General Information

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As Chair of the Scientific Committee and on behalf of the collaborating institutions, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the official website of the 1st International Conference entitled “Violence against Minors. Interpretive Approaches, Prevention and Interventions”. The Conference is co-organized by the Society for Mental Health of Children and Adolescents, the Research Laboratory in Counseling, Psychosocial Support and Community Interventions, University of West Attica, the institute of Child Health, the National Centre for Social Society and ELIZA (Society for the prevention of Cruelty to Children). It will take place at the Campus of Ancient Eleonas of the University of West Attica, on 4 & 5 April 2025. The issue of violence against minors unfortunately remains a tragic topical issue, both in our country and internationally, with significantly increasing quantitative and qualitative negative indicators. Its justification, management and recording remain complex, multifactorial and interdisciplinary dimensions, requiring a holistic approach and multilevel inter-agency collaboration. The Conference will include presentations, poster presentations and workshops with invited keynote speakers from abroad and Greece. We would also like to encourage colleagues from all disciplines to submit abstracts to present their scientific research and clinical experience, with the aim of creating a program that will contribute to the promotion of up-to-date and evidence-based knowledge and practice. Within the website, you will find all the information and timelines required, both for attending and submitting your papers. We are confident that the 1st International Conference on Violence Against Minors will provide new knowledge, good practices and exchange of views through fruitful scientific dialogue and the joy of human communication. We look forward to your active and productive participation. For our part, we will make every effort to ensure the excellent organization of the Conference and your hospitality on the premises of the PADA.

With kind regards,
Konstantina Sklavou

President of the Scientific Committee of the Conference
